Spreads by sending up new shoots, forming a thicket. Growth from root suckering will provide moderate erosion control.

Sun will grow in full sun, but best in light, dappled shade
Water high at first, then moderate when established
Maintenance low, but may want to prune to keep low
Tolerates summer heat better than other flowering shrubs

Wildlife The fragrant white flowers and nectar attract hummingbirds and butterflies. Deer eat it only when other forage vegetation is limited. Birds eat the fruit.
